While U.S. officials are working to obtain the release of two American journalists recently detained by the North along its border with China, Paik Hak-soon, an analyst at the Sejong Institute think tank, has his take on the situation.
Paik Hak-soon predicts reporters Euna Lee and Laura Ling from San Francisco-based online media outlet Current TV will be used as bargaining chips, with North Korea likely "to try to link them to the nuclear and missile talks."
